Maker Culture 3D ("we", "us") runs makerculture3d.com. This policy explains what personal data we collect when you visit the site or place an order, why we use it, who we share it with and what rights you have under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). We are the data controller.
What we collect
- Order details: your name, email address, phone number, shipping and billing address, the items you buy and any personalisation text you enter at checkout.
- Files you send us: photos, ultrasound scans, drawings or locations you send by WhatsApp or email so we can make your piece.
- Payment data: handled entirely by Stripe. We receive confirmation that you paid and the last digits/brand of your card; we never see or store full card numbers.
- Technical data: our hosting provider processes standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver and protect the site. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels on this site. Your shopping basket is stored only in your own browser.
Why we use it (legal basis)
- To make, ship and support your order — performance of a contract.
- To keep accounting and tax records — legal obligation.
- To keep the site secure and prevent fraud — legitimate interests.
- To send marketing emails, only if you opted in — consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
Who we share it with
- Stripe (Stripe Payments Europe Ltd, Dublin) — payment processing and fraud prevention.
- Cloudflare — website hosting and security.
- Hostinger — our business email.
- Resend — sending order confirmation emails.
- WhatsApp / Meta — only if you choose to message us there.
- Postal and courier services — to deliver your order.
Some of these providers may process data outside the EEA; where they do, they rely on the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or an adequacy decision. We never sell your personal data.
How long we keep it
Photos, scans and other files you send us are used only to make your piece and are deleted within 90 days of delivery unless you ask us to keep them for a re-order. Order and invoice records are kept for 6 years, as required by Irish tax law.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, delete or export your personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, or to withdraw consent. Email info@makerculture3d.com and we will reply within one month. You also have the right to complain to the Data Protection Commission (dataprotection.ie).
Children
Our site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18 without parental consent.
